Exeter

I'm with Kagan on this ... there's something about the style of Exeter that tickles my fancy in just the right way. It carries off a successful impression of the original series without being a mimic. The bridge of the Exeter is a familiar, comfortable place with enough originality to keep it interesting. It looks and feels like a serious production, too. My single criticism of the show is the lengthy delays before release ... and that's all that keeps it from becoming a viable alternative to Paramount's productions. The people involved in Exeter should be proud of their work.

Now given that it's been less than a week since my previous post, I'll refrain from saying anything else on this subject. But I'm sure you all know what I want to ask.

No, not really...
As I tell wifey all the time, I can't read minds!
If you've got something to say, spit it out. :guffaw:

Reminds me of the joke about the guy getting his extremely busy Plummer to schedule a time

The Plummber says, "How about May 20, 2018?"

the man answers, "Morning or evening?"

the plummer says what difference does it make, it's 10 years away?

the man replies, "The cable guy is scheduled that morning"

The folks at neo-fx.com just looked at an edit of Act Four and are doing some new animatics for it. I haven't been able to get in touch with Jimm Johnson yet - I'll post another update when I do.

= Not soup yet. ;)

I didn't care for the campy "Savage Empire", but, man I was LOVING "Tresaurrian Intersection" and absolutely CRUSHED when Act 3 ended with the episode incomplete.

I just watched it a few months ago, I haven't been following production details, but had heard vague things about how it was released in pieces. Somehow I figured I had waited long enough that the thing was probably all done.

I really think it's amateurish and frustrating to release unfinished efforts, like Exeter and "Gods and Men." It immediately makes you look unprofessional and frustrates the viewer at least as much as it entertains them.

Hell, even if it takes five years after shooting, just finish the thing instead of teasing it out in pieces. You're not doing yourself or your viewers any favors. Yeah, I know you're dying to have SOMETHING to show for your efforts, but when was the last time a real movie or TV show was released as a work in progress. Hmm...never?

Don't mean to sound harsh, but it's more than a minor annoyance. It's hopelessly JV. Which is a shame since, in this case at least, the product itself is of such a high quality.

Dude-They're FANS, it's a FAN production. They aren't the pro's, they are people moonlighting to bring life to a dramatic production-it's like community theater on steroids. What they have done thus far is utterly amazing.

I'm sorry, I am really enjoying it, and for one am tired of seeing the whining. Thank them for what they're doing, and hope they'll do some more. They probably won't if we keep bitching.

You may not deserve the brunt of this rant, but come on folks, enjoy the show when it's done. (which BTW can't be soon enough unless it's now. LOL)

Thanks to the Exeter cast and crew who I know are working hard right now to finish this. And my apologies if this seems harsh, just trying to stand up for my virtual friends.

(who I've never met, but I still seem to have grown attached to!)

Thanks, mredom, but it's truly not a big deal. I don't control the schedule of the thing so I refuse to fret about it. I just focus on the work.

I know I sounded harsh. And I certainly understand your desire, after so much time and effort expended, to have at least something to show for it.

I just think you'd be better off waiting until it was absolutely, completely done to release it. Even if it takes years longer than you had hoped. I think the wait would be worth it.

Though that was the focus of my above comments, I definitely did want to convey that I thought it was a really fine piece of work and I was enjoying the hell out of it. I am very eager to see the conclusion. :)

That's why I haven't watched anything after the teaser. It was astonishing and I cannot wait to see the rest ... but I want to see the whole episode, not bits and pieces between long intervals. That's just me and one of my pets in my zoo of neuroses, though. Right next to sorting dirty silverware before I wash the dishes.

I had heard rumblings about a new part released. So I assumed that was the last piece and watched them all at that point. Ugh. VERY frustrated to find it wasn't done yet.

Yeah, I will just wait next time until final completion.
