I am reading a really good novel, the first in a series. Relic is a 1995 novel, written by Douglas J. Preston and Lincoln Child. I think it has also been turned into a movie, but I haven't seen it, yet.
The story weaves several themes smoothly and artfully throughout the narrative. The action builds slowly and suspensefully. The characters--both major and very minor ones--seem very lifelike and realistic. Some interesting computer science, biology and botany facts are thrown into the mix, too.
I'm just getting to the good part now, and it is exciting!
Hopefully, the rest of the book will build to the proper climax. I now have a new series I can follow.
If you haven't read it yet, you might check it out at your local library.
