I hope something does come from this!

ECSTATIC space officials at Nasa could be about to unveil one of their most stunning discoveries for 40 years - new and amazingly clear footage of the first moon landing. The release of the new images next month could be one of the most talked about events of the summer.

The Sunday Express can now reveal that the missing tapes containing the original high quality images have been found.

If the visual data can be retrieved, Nasa is set to reveal them to the world as a key plank of celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the landings next month.

The tapes show in much more detail than almost anyone has previously seen the surface of the moon beneath the patriotic symbol of the US flag.

Cool. I guess now that special effects have come so far since '69, NASA can finally make it look like we actually landed on the moon...

I kid, I kid. *Hopes Buzz doesn't punch me*

This is awesome news, hopefully the tapes are still readable. I was lamenting over this myself while reading about it after I watched The Dish.

Word on the street is NASA needs to add a bunch of lens flares in before it can be released.

He's too busy trying to photoshop out the faces of James Brolin, Sam Waterson and O.J. Simpson.

Apollo 11: The Special Edition.

This is fantastic. I hope they're able to recover all the data. :bolian:

In pure DS9 tradition, let me be the first here to scream:

"IT'S REAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!"

Suck it, conspiracy theorists! :p

Oh, I can see it now!

Conspiracy nutjobs: "Funny how NOW it comes to light, when the technology exists to show a quality copy of a fake moon landing!"

Can't wait to see it, personally. :)
