Excelsior II class

Someone finally did a model of the canon Excelsior II class for STO. Admiral Horton over at Deviantart then did an ortho set for her.

I've always loved the original Excelsior. And this... I don't hate it. I really don't, though it looks a bit odd from certain angles. I want to see it close up, in detail, from different viewpoints. I'd love a 3D model of it.

At least it seems to be an in-universe acknowledgement that the reason there's Excelsiors EVERYWHERE in TNG and DS9 is because it's actually an incredibly flexible, long-lasting design. The Klingons barely changed the Bird-of-Prey for over 200 years, why shouldn't Starfleet keep revisiting the old reliable designs that just work?

If only Picard S1 had ended with 200 Excelsiors warping in, in the multiple configurations including the original TSFS version. THAT would have been a sight to see.
