Excellent documentary on Susan Oliver ("Vina")

Talos IV

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Because "Vina" is one of TOS' most entrancing characters, and because Susan Oliver is one of the show's most fetching guest stars:

The new Gross & Altman book includes an interview with George Pappy, who directed an excellent feature-length documentary called THE GREEN GIRL (available for streaming on iTunes, Amazon, etc.)

It's true: Susan is immortalized because of her one STAR TREK appearance (and because "Vina" appears at the end of the closing credits in most first-season episodes). But she was also an extremely popular guest star on many, many other TV shows, an accomplished pilot, and she wanted to direct episodes of ST: TNG.

Other STAR TREK guest stars interviewed in the documentary are Lee Meriwether and Celeste Yarnall (both looking great).

"The Menagerie" has always been my favorite episode, and a big part of that is because of Susan.

If Susan had been cast as Number One, we would have had her for the whole series. But GR wanted a second paycheck in the family, and we all know how that turned out.
