Ex Astris interview **MASSIVE SPOILAGE**

I saved a few moments of my life by not clicking the link.

If he really wanted to pull an April Fool's joke that might startle people, he should have announced that he was going to favor the new movie over the old continuity in all matters of "canonicity."

But then, he'd probably have been responsible for untold deaths in the aftermath.
Or for the creation of an alternate timeline, at the very least.

I knew it was an April Fool's Day joke when I read this about Shat: "But seriously, once you get to know him he is the greatest guy ever."

Not to mention Capt. APRIL for APRIL Fool's Day... it was a dead giveaway!

Indeed...

And if those weren't enough, then try:
T'Neruu = Untrue
Piral Prime = April 1
Kotsulu Tulife = Futile Sulk Out
Fred Batica = Fabricated
'Natural Graphical Interchange and Enhancement of Film' (NGIEF) = FEIGN
a new Canadian TV show called 'Feu contrite' = Counterfeit
There are more hints, but these should do.

Olaf Sporil itself is an anagram for April Fools. I have to say, I'm impressed. Up until now I didn't think Bernd had the necessary sense of humour to pull something like this off.

I know! This is the most complex April Fool's joke I ever read, in terms of all the clues and such.

Considering Bernd's almost pathological hatred for the new movie in general and its starship design in particular, it is really astonishing that he went to such great lengths to pull such an elaborate April Fool's joke out of his sleeve... or perhaps not, when his intention was merely to take the piss out of those who actually look forward to it.

This "joke" is a failure.
A good April fool's joke is one you don't realize it's a joke even before you read it.

But those are extremely rare...

Exactly, I mean, I have been programmed to not really believe anything I read today... hard to trick when everyone knows that today is the day to do it...
