Man, fuck that private collector!I hope the first finished copy of that was sent (for free) to that private collector. With a note saying "This is on YOU."

The animation reminded me of this:

Watching the Shapeshifter featurette - yes I did end up buying the Web of Fear DVD in order to support the line - reading between the lines I got the impression that they'll be using this technique to animate Marco Polo, The Crusades, The Highlanders and The Dalek Masterplan. Probably so that they can put out B&W era Blu-Ray season box sets.
To answer your query I got the impression that Evil of the Daleks would be done like the earlier animated reconstructions. Here's a trailer:
I have a theory that if, if that private collector returns episode three this side of the release of the season five Blu-Ray box set (and with time enough for the episode to be restored to the same state as the other five), that the colourised six episodes won't be on the disc(s) covering WOF at all and, just as the episode three telesnap reconstruction is now an orphaned DVD/Blu-Ray extra on the SE so to will the B&W animated episode three be on the Blu-Ray box set.I am a bit annoyed, though, when a subpar result of animation effort (and all kudos to the production team that probably didn't have the proper time period to work on this endeavour) is promoted over other pieces of animation that are worthier. Certainly around the time Ian Levine's Shada fan-made animation was leaked, most naysayers and anti-Levine folk proclaimed that the end result was not fit for wide distribution. Yet this is?
Me neither.Yeah, I don't care if it's crappy animation.
