Evil Airplane designers :)

That photo looks like fairly comfy business class and doesn't match the seating plan described in the article.

It is beautiful. I would blu tak photos of my family and cats up to the wall.

You could do that :)

Or when seated stare at the person in front of you till they weird out :D

Or rub your legs on theirs till they freak out ....

So many awkward things you could do as well as plaster the plane with cat pictures ...

So many bad things you could do lol.

The seat arrangement from Coco's article (not the pic, that looks comfy) is pretty bad, but still better than the patent Airbus filed last year for standing seats.

And as an aerospace engineer, I wouldn't design something like this. But the aircraft companies are constantly getting pressure from customers (airlines) to fit more people, so the result is stuff like this. Doesn't mean it will happen, though.

The location of the TV screens in the first pic doesn't make sense.
The screens flip out.

Which seat does Tom Paris sit in to fly the ship?

LOL........ .I am not the only one to think this...

Come to think of that the photo I posted makes me think of a crazy ass spaceship..

Now if we had the technology in the 5th Element to knock people out they could stack people in small boxes like they did in that movie...

That can't possibly be safe in a crash. There's barely any back support and no leg support, and your pelvis would be crushed on impact.

This has all the elements of what I love about flying.

You know when a kid in the seat in front of you turns around and stares at you for the whole flight when you just want to put in your headphones and listen to an audiobook? Well, hey, now you can get in on the act and awkwardly stare at two people sitting two feet away from you.

Does feeling up the person sitting next to you count toward the Mile High Club? Because unless you sit in a straightjacket, your hands are going to be on their legs.

How much do you hate being that person who has to get up during the flight? Well now you get to do it in seats where extricating yourself is like a game of human Jenga.

Good points. The picture looks like the red person has their hand under the legs of both blue people.

Those diagrams are horrible, but the picture shown looks decent. I wonder if they have dividers that can be placed/pulled up to separate the compartments.

If you mean the picture that was in the OP, that was actually completely unrelated to the seating arrangement featured in the article. I removed it to prevent further confusion.

That floor plan looks like someone is planning on breaking the Guinness World Records for simultaneous handjobs.

How do you get in/out of those middle seats? Unless my kids are with me, I just sleep on planes, which is uncomfortable enough with the person sitting next to me, but not two people can stare at me sleeping the whole flight!

If an airline did use this arrangement, large people would no longer be able to fly because they wouldn't be able to use two seats.

It looks like the red person is goosing the other two.

Not only that, but he'd be staring at the others right in the face for the whole flight while his hands are awkwardly close to their butts.

Gee, what could possibly go wrong there? And how exactly do people get in and out of the seats?
