Evidence of SNW being a possible alternate timeline from TOS

And if an alternate timeline WAS created when, say, the "Shockwave" 2-parter of ENT gets that colony destroyed then that just means everything that follows ENT is in the same changed timeline, including TOS.

This all sounds so much simpler than multiple timelines. ;)

Have more cordial conversations about interpretations. Trying to impose views on others takes so much energy

I haven’t seen any one here trying to impose their views. This is just where the regularly scheduled Prime vs. Multiverse pissing match is taking place this week. :p

Now, there's the Akorem Laan conundrum in Season 4 of DS9, but I still think the way the producers intend the timeline to work that even a change in Bajoran literary history over 200 years in the past isn't enough to place the station and crew and franchise in a new timeline. That those tiny little changes don't generate a whole new continuity, that the timeline adjusts to absorb the new little peripheral alterations and any big ones (outside the Kelvin Timeline) are rapidly corrected and erased, restoring the "original" continuity.

See, I think it’s fun to compare notes with someone who sees things differently. Maybe I see something I didn’t take into account. Maybe they see something that they didn’t take into account.

For me, that is the whole point of this place. To look at and consider different ideas.

It has “possible” in the title. I read that as someone presenting as opinion.
Perhaps impose is a word too easily misinterpreted in text based communications but it is less verbose than routinely declare their opinions as facts and have decided in advance to accept no alternatives in a debate.

I heed the producers' stance that it's all one unified timeline, but as you can clearly see, I hew away from it a little bit by admitting ALL of the franchise may well happen in a changed history. It's unified and one history, but somewhere in the past someone burped or farted and put little bumps in the road.

Part of it is that many of these battle lines have been forged years and, sometimes, decades ago.

We kinda get right to the point after a while.

Which is where I differ. I’m not worried about their decrees. I just watch the material and judge it based on its merits and presentation.

You posting your views in no way diminish mine, no one should ever feel that mine are an attempt to diminish theirs.

Which was something Andrew Probert tried to fix early in production on TNG until Gene and Bob Justman said the audience needed to have a reference point for the Bridge when they look at the ship.

To say nothing about the Enterprise model in WNMHGB having a visible window on the front of the Bridge.
Looks more like a lighted panel than a window. Cannot see inside the bridge at all.
