Everything we know about USS Discovery's interior

In the PS3 game set on the Kelvin Enterprise, you do have to sneak around parts of the ship inside the turboshafts. Turns out they're all ball like mechanisms that spin at high speed through tubes, only righting themselves at the last second, with their own internal gravity compensators.
I forgot about that! It's Star Trek (2013) and it's available on PC, PS3 and X-Box... umm.... 360?

Yes and it's weird, and terrible. It isn't optimised *at all* and was developed alongside, but independent, of STiD.

So the plot and details don't line up at all. The warp core is totally different when you have to crawl down there to stop it exploding. And the Enterprise warps off at the end to Nibiru, with half it's surface badly damaged.

2012/3 had a lot of movie tie-ins like that for some reason. Nothing beats how badly they render Merida's hair in the PS3 version of the Brave game. Even the Gorn in the Trek game seemingly anatomically inverting from bad animation isn't that bad.

I heard that game didn't do too hot with critics, although it was quite anticipated when it was first announced. I never played it though.

yeah very true. They probably just pasted the floor plan of the shenzhou's directly in there without changing any of the details. Still though, i think we can assume thats what its meant to be. They clearly have the whole ship at least roughly planned out, and that makes me so happy to see. I hope they release HD images of the deck plans we see on the screens.

Yeah, I was starting to say that since the sets are the same, there are circular doo-dads along the perimeter of Discovery's transporter room where the Shenzhou's pads were, but the I looked at the graphic again, and they've definitely got the central control console drawn in and not the traditional transporter Discovery has in that spot.

It was panned and it flopped. The best bits are exploring the Enterprise, even if engineering is different to any screen version, the layout of the officer's quarters makes no sense and the brewery-like bits in the shuttlebay are just for show and you can't explore them.

There are some cool continuity tidbits with the IDW comics, and Spock's quarters even has a Vulcan Rubix cube thingie from a promotional comic released in '09.

The worst thing about the game is, it could have been amazing. JJ Abrams said he wanted it to be very different and wanted to be more hands-on in shaping it, but tuned out when he realised what the devs were doing.

the corridors seem too big for a 750m long ship

Yeah, that's something to address. I keep wanting the crew-count to be maybe twice what it was cited as being in Season One, and this is another part of why.

as they say in the video, it’s not clear those are corridors.

let’s not put too much stock in these graphics, it’s clear the creators are still working out the particulars. despite the fact that they should’ve figured all this out well before the show even aired. and sold some cool blueprint posters to boot.

This was posted on Trek Core's twitter. The Shenzhou's pads are hidden behind the walls of the Discovery's transporter room.

And now we have junior and senior officers' quarters options for them to play with. Could the senior officers' quarters be redressed as Pike's ready room or mess hall space?

Yes, it looks very much to me like a display of Power Conduits rather than corridors.
Especially since it also shows the inner workings of the Nacelles.
Plus the RED lines seem to me to indicate how the Spore Drive intertwines it's power around the ship when functioning.

I truly see them as corridors. They have the intersection hubs which are identical in shape to the one we see in the full scale set. They'd be incredibly thick conduits, not leaving room for corridors and rooms otherwise. We also see a close up of part of the saucer plan, and we can see the details look identical to the physical filming set plan posted above.

Well if it is showing power conduits, then it would very much resemble the corridors since we have already seen that the GNDN set pieces run right along the sides of said hallways.

Yeah, just like all... zero of the other series did. So far the Discovery hasn't mysteriously grown an extra deck at the saucer rim, so I'd say they're doing OK. They can pin down details when needed.
