I thought it was sort of amusing that old styles sort of (but not exactly) come back over and over again. Especially since threads like "Things that date Star Trek" tend to imply that the way that particular shows and movies tend the use the styles of the eras they are made dates them to those particular eras. Even though some of those styles have been popular several different times over centuries and millennia. No big deal.

Hurry up cravats and ascots, two men's neckwear items not seen since the 1970s and were surprisingly stylish.
Lots of broken IMGs, BTW. Did peek at the links. I recall David Marcus' sweater very early-80s, almost like Mr Rogers. Just wait a century and see Tasha Yar's hair in "Haven" become all the rage again (eek!)

I think it was the preppy look that David Marcus was going for. I remember the preppy kids use to wear their sweaters like that.
250 years from now, fashions that would have been considered in line with the 1960s will be considered the norm.
