I've never been to an Ikea either but that article cracked me up when I read it. I mean, frankly, it could apply to almost any large furniture store.

The last thing I got from IKEA was a new bedframe. My girlfriend and I started putting it together around 9 PM or so.

Needless to say, we just put the mattress on the floor to sleep that night.

Typo. The detolf is a simple glass display cabinet.

Last time I visited Ikea we started at the "wrong" end of the maze and worked our way backwards. It's amazing how much more straightforward the journey is if you are going back towards the entrance.

Are the brand names the same in all countries? They are genuine Swedish, at least in Sweden.

most of them are. but not all. although they can come up with some interesting names sometimes when they're out of swedish words.

and just as a sidenote for the quality. my parents bought this bed frame awhile back. i don't remember its name though. i had to weld the damn ting in order to assemble it. the bolts were crap, the drilled holes were too small and so on. that's when i promised myself to never buy anything there...

and just FYI: when the Ikea store opened in Budapest, Hungary people died because everyone wanted to get in and they stepped on each other. apparently the military were called in...

Ha! That's great! We've been there a few times and honestly i love the way it's set up. When I'm there I almost feel like i'm on a ride at an amusement park but without all the motion sickness shit.

Those are the best part of Ikea. Especially when you get eight of them with potato and jam for just under 2$.

My IKEA bed is on the second mattress (this one is also an IKEA mattress, as it was 'best in test' in a consumer organisation test -and about half the price of the runner-up), My entire kitchen is from IKEA, only shelves and one chair in my living room are not IKEAn and in the bathroom I have an IKEA bog-roll-holder (the kind that looks like it holds one BIG roll -but when you open it you see that it holds eight normal sized rolls)

OH!, and: I'm surprised at all the comments from posters admitting to the fact that they're not able to assemble the flat-packed stuff (or they don't care for it); after all it has all been designed in such a way that an idiot could do it! (albeit an idiot with four hands and eyes on two of them ) -and it's as fun as playing with LEGO!

In total honesty, I cannot remember the price of the meat balls when I was there last; it was the price of the desert that made me join
