Every now and then, things are awesome. (Warning: bragging ahead!)

Congrats, from someone who is about to enter the VFX world himself, though more on the comp side of things, rather then 3d.

Perhaps we'll word together someday...

Cool. Where are you located now? Any particular companies you're looking at as far as work goes?

Wow that is really great!:techman: We need to move you up now to being a celebrity poster along with Michael Okuda and Chase Masterson.:)

Heh. And I came within a hairs breadth of having lunch with Doug Drexler a few months ago, so how's that for Trek bona fides? :p ( I spent an evening talking with Michael Davidson, when he was freelancing at Zoic, and the two of them are still friends from the BSG days. I was invited to join up with them when they were planning on having lunch that week, but Mike never called me back. :()

...Speaking of which, we have a special "writer" title for published authors here, so why not custom titles for other professions? I know we have a couple other VFX guys here, like deg, and I'm sure we wouldn't mind the recognition.

I am currently located in Philly. I intern at a place called DIVE, which did the effects for The Road. I graduate in about a months time, and they have indicated that they'll have freelance work for me when they get their next show...

Hey, Gep, seriously, from a guy whos just completed a 3 Year degree in Digital Animation, I know how high risk/low payoff just walking into a place and waving about your is, and im extremely happy it ended up so well for you.

As a fellow vis fx guy/curious by stander, what programs do you guys use on V? Lightwave? Maya? 3DS Max? I use Cinema 4D, and am learning Maya (thats what my course used) but havent even touched Lightwave, even though I know Trek and BSG used it. Is it worth learning?

Also, did you have your Trek stuff in your portfolio? Or is that as HUGE a no no as I've been told and living by?
