Eva Green cast as female lead in Dark Shadows

I like the soundtrack samples and they seem to further indicate that it won't be a complete comedy.

^^well that sounds hopefull... :D

This. I confess I was a little appalled when I saw the trailer, and could almost hear the Darth Vader "Noooooooo!" cries of thousands of DS fans.

but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now. It wouldn't be the first time that studio marketing weasels managed to mis-represent a movie.

^ yeah, nearly all the interviews i've read with Burton and Seth Grahame-Smith (script writer) say the film has its funny moments but is not an overt comedy.

the latest issue of Famous Monsters has an interview with Burton and with Frid, Selby and other original cast members.

We'll see. They have a lot to overcome with the head on the piano keys and so forth. :rommie:

Ugh.

Stop it. Tim Burton. JUST! STOP!

That College Humor video of him working with his crew on his idea of a Little Red Riding Hood movie is just about spot on. Sarah Bonham Carter. Johnny Depp. Danny Elfman.

UGH!

Darks Shadows was an okay show from what I've seen of it, hardly something worthy of a lot of dedication but... sheeeessshhh. You just know Tim Burton is going to fuck this up and it's going to be overly morose, go gray it might as well be in black-n-white and even with a talented cast they're going to be so watered down in macabre and speaking like they just took half a bottle of Valium that the movie is going to be utterly unwatchable.

How much longer before Burton becomes such a big joke of a film-maker that he's no longer marketable? How long before he gets the "M. Night Shymalan" effect?

Shit's getting old, Tim. Do something different, will you?

Indeed. College Humor nailed it when they made the sketch

Yeah, IMO it felt like those clips came from a totally different movie than the trailers were advertising. If I went in to the movie looking for a goofy fish out of water comedy like the trailers advertised, and most of the movie was like those clips, I'd honestly be kinda pissed. But since I go more for the kind of movie the clips are showing, they have actually raised my interest in this quite a bit.
