Eurovision Song Contest 2016

I wasn't convinced by any of these songs. Several years ago Lordi was entertaining. :klingon:
I have lost interest since then.

:D (loving this new voting system)

Love that Ukraine won. They deserved it. Ukraine vs Russia was the final battle. Loving the ESC!

Judges say Poland was shit. Public vote say they jump to the top five??? What?

Bizarre.

But hey... at least Germany came bottom.

I'm wondering if the first representatives of NDR (the channel responsible for ESC in Germany) have already started to camp in front of Stefan Raab's house trying to get him out of retirement for next years contest.

I was actually little bit surprised that Germany got that low points. I thought that the song was ok. Not great, but ok. There were worse songs in the final.

About all I have to say about Eurovision is that at least this year Australia's (:wtf:) representative has some actual, genuine talent. Hopefully this opens a lot of doors for Dami Im. :bolian:

Congratulations to Ukraine for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2016:bolian::biggrin::)!
I am very happy about the winner, I admit the song is not a radiohit material maybe
but it is still good, very emotionally charged song with a very talented performance.
It certainly had much more soul than than Russias somewhat calculated piece of show,
that to me looked bit too much like a copy of last years winners.
My personal favorites like Australia and Bulgaria did very well, so I really happy of the final results:techman:
I also felt that the final was of good quality song and performance wice and personallu did not feel bored at any monent.

This years ESC was very good in my opinion, we saw lots of nice songs and performances.
And Sweden gets my big thanks for making such a fun show.
So next year we will be heading to Ukraine then..I am already looking forward to it:cool:.

I certainly hope so also, she is very talented singer.
Her Carpenters cover(s) are worth listening also:

I was quite concerned that the U.K. wouldn't occupy it's usual spot at the foot of the table.

Luckily the second round of marks from the public votes sorted that out...

^ Me too.

It was a bit of a dull Euro though. Great presenters, but no real standout songs, no odd novelties, no complete nutters and not much under the totally awful banner either...

I'm pretty surprised we came so close to winning. Not bad for apparently all pity and "protest" votes.

Some of the differences between the jury and public votes were interesting. Russia's jury vote was about a third of its public. It does a bit better in the jury and it would have won. More than a few people on social media were crying foul over that and quite salty that they lost to a song that was the most popular with either sections. The machinations of Eurovision voting is always entertaining.

Enjoyed the contest and congrats to Ukraine. Looking forward to them hosting it next year. Though I'm not gong to lie, I will miss Petra Mede. Watching her wrangle the live cross for the votes is fantastic.

Greece trying to claim credit for Russia's song, they're getting invaded ;)

I think it was worth it for Love Love Peace Peace, that was great.
