Eureka Episode Discussion (Spoilers of course)

SG-17

Well since no one has been making Eureka threads and just to save space I made this thread for general discussion of Eureka and new episodes.

Lets start off with tonight's Warehouse 13 crossover "Crossing Over".

James Callis (finally got over just calling him Baltar) is amazing in this episode and the series, his acting of discovering the culture that he missed is funny and awesome.

I'm only a casual watcher of this show... I was extremely disappointed that this big 'crossover' was just a single D list character from each show appearing.

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. Carter's voiceover during the prologue with his complaints about "Dr. Old Spice" had me in giggles. James Callis was very smooth and suave, yet in a different way than Baltar. I still have trouble believing at times that it's the same actor.

I haven't seen much Warehouse 13 but I did like Claudia, so it was a nice treat to see her. She and Fargo make a nice couple. And I loved how Fargo mentioned that his mental fantasy included "a swanky hotel at Comic-Con."

The whole Carter/Allison/Grant love triangle will keep me coming back, and I'm still curious about how Henry is going to work things out with Grace, the wife he didn't have in the other time line.

I found the episode intriquing with all of the tech talk dealing with time travel, wormholes, and that the warehouse is getting the einstein engne to protect, and we might see Claudia walking in with it in the next episode in order to bag it tag it,and stow it possibly in one of the vaults.

That's my opinion

I enjoyed this episode. I think Claudia is the perfect character from Warehouse 13 to crossover to Eureka. But this of course means that Warehouse 13 takes place in Eureka's alternate timeline.

I think Claudia's character was just a little off. Possibly due to being written by the Eureka writers rather than the WH13 crew?

Just caught this episode because of the crossover... if it really is a "case of the week" show like W13, I can see why they decided to just merge the universes and have them crossover. I'm not sure if I'm interested enough to keep watching though... but the episode seemed friendly enough to a new viewer.

I guess the aggravating thing for me is just how much of a perfect woman for Henry Grace is. Part of me wishes Henry would just get over it and realize that she's the one for him, but that's not in Henry's nature. As it stands, short of admitting to her the truth (an idea Henry was dead set against a few episodes ago), I'm not sure what he can do, except grow further from Grace. I almost wonder if Henry is, at least subconsciously, expecting things to go back to normal (which is what I'm expecting the season finale to be about), in which case, he's lose another woman he loved (and putting him in the reverse role with the "old timeline" Grace, where he's the one who was in a relationship and she's the one who has no clue what he's talking about).

As for Warehouse 13, they did say that the further from Eureka something is, the less likely it changed, which says to me that Warehouse 13 existed in the other timeline too, though if things do revert, the Claudia/Fargo relationship could end up like Henry/Grace. On the other hand, except for mentioning he was the head of GD, the whole thing could have happened the same way (which would make sense, since I thought it was a little odd that Fargo was the one to go. In the "old timeline," I couldn't see Allison going, as it would be more likely that she'd send Fargo anyway). The premise almost seemed like it was planned before the "new timeline" stuff in Eureka and a line was added to acknowledge it. So if things revert, I expect "13.1" to remain relatively unchanged, whereas things might have gone different for "Crossover," maybe even to the point where Claudia never came to Eureka.

But this of course means that Warehouse 13 takes place in Eureka's alternate timeline.

That was already established in this week's Warehouse 13 episode. In it, Fargo mentioned being in charge of GD.

As old as the Warehouse is supposed to be, it just means that there's nothing really different about the Warehouse in the alternate timeline, and that Eureka has always taken place in the Warehouse 13 timeline.

Kinda an age difference between Claudia (Allison is 19) and Fargo (Neil is 30), that felt a bit weird.

Loved this week's episode! Though, it does show how much I missed Stark, especially his banter with Carter.

And Doctor Old Spice's line about who he saw had me in stitches!

^ Yeah, the line about the blonde with long legs in a red dress was awesome. :p

And yeah, it was a good ep. It was really good to have both Ed Quinn and Jaime Ray Newman back on the show.

^^^ Don't feel bad. I chuckled at the line initially, but it wasn't until I went to IMDb afterwards and saw the quote in print that I slapped my forehead and went "OH! Duh!" :rommie:

Kinda of let down with bringing Stark back, I would have thought he just did not die in the new timeline. Jack telling him he saw him die is not really true, that Carter was not there in the alt timeline when Stark died (or de-materialized). he may have found out about it though.

Well Stark isn't really "back." He was just a figment of Jack's imagination.

Really don't think he going to be a weekly character, as a aside I did not care for the new beard, the previous one was sexier by far.
