Ethics: One of the More Complicated Eps.

You gotta remember, though, that Starfleet Doctors still honor the "do no harm" tenet. If Crusher allowed Worf to basically commit suicide, she would be ignoring her duty as a doctor, and her oath.

It could be argued that *refusing* to allow Worf to commit ritual suicide would be harm, since it's ingrained in his culture that this must always be allowed when a warrior can no longer fight. Forcing him to be kept alive against his will would be a much greater harm than a quick and honorable death.

I think it's a solid & entertaining episode, but like others have stated, it never sat well with me, because they really push the realm of belief that a top physician specialist could be that oblivious to basic tenants of medical practice

If you have are hard time wrapping your mind around "Do no harm" it surfaces long before you become the Federation's top specialist, or whatever Russell was

Oh, I buy it. Worf got owned by every other guest star in seasons 1-3, so why not inanimate objects.

Ah yes, the classic Worf Effect. :D

Let's go to the tape:

Wow, I forgot how many times Worf got his ass handed to him in both series! However, a few of those scenes were edited to just show him on the receiving end and not how he finally beats some of those adversaries, like the holodeck monsters, for example! Bless his heart. -- RR
