I need a driver for an Ethernet Controller on a Dell Dimension 4550, can anyone help? I've tried doing an internet search, and anything I seem to find seems to be old, I use Windows XP, Home Edition, Service Pack 3.

If this controller happens to control a built-in ethernet port, you shouldn't need to download any drivers. However, if the software is old, still use it, in compatability mode it might work, unless by "old" you mean Service pack 2. =P
I mean that it doesn't work at all, and that I had to reinstall my wireless card to connect to the internet, the computer, through device manager, is telling me that there is no driver installed. None of my CD's seem to have the driver, and I can't figure out what I should look for...
Often if Windows doesn't a driver for a network card for example it's a sign the machine or component came out after Windows was released so you're reliant on the computer or component manufacturer for the driver.
Go to www.dell.com and into their support section and find the driver you need. It will download as a zip file which you just expand into a directory. In the directory there's usually a setup.exe file to run. This will then install the driver or you can can install the driver manually.
The other other option is your Dell would of come with a support CD that had all the drivers.
The dell site seems to be shit, It's not letting me do anything without their download manager, which wont install in my computer. Gah.
