Ethan Peck cast as DSC's Spock

GRLmBSQ.png

I went for it. Made as quickly as possible.
So first of all, props on the Photoshop job. Second, this made me LOL because my first thought was that Kirk Pine and Spock Quinto had a love child. This guy definitely looks more like Quinto than Nimoy.
He looks close enough for me but I hope he has ditched those muscles. Nobody wants a hunky good looking Spock.
Jason
:vulcan: Not sure if that was sarcasm or??? But I think both Nimoy Spock and Quinto Spock were/are hot, good looking guys.

So obviously, I've never heard of this guy, not sure how well he'll do until we see him BE Spock. Pulling off this character is more in the acting chops than it is in the looks, though they are a part of it. I wouldn't have picked him looks wise for a Spock, but maybe he has the chops to pull it off as an Actor. We shall see.

Ask the Romulan agent in ENT who got his ridge back.

They did however have a little bit of prosthetic enhancement on their brow to make it bigger, it's hard to see though without a comparison of the actors without it.

There wouldn't have been enough time to do it anyways.
Not all Romulans have the ridges. V’Las didnt.

That's because he's a Vulcan.
Wasn’t he revealed to be a Romulan? It’s been a few years since I saw it.
It also explains how Spockcould live on Romulus for many years if there were other Romulans with no ridges.
Could be like the Asian variant in humans.

Not all Romulans have the ridges. V’Las didnt.

Nor did at least four Romulans in TOS. The Romulan Commander and the older Centurion from "Balance of Terror", and The Romulan Commander and TAL from "The Enterprise Incident". Also, Kirk was able to walk around a Romulan ship without ridges in "The Enterprise Incident".

Romulans originally didn't have ridges. It was an addition of TNG, because they didn't think the audience smart enough to tell them apart from Vulcans.
The female Romulan in Star Trek V also didn’t have ridges and that was filmed during TNG.

V'Las defected to Romulus and all the smooth head Romulans are his kids and grandkids. It's in your head canon now.

I'm not sure I really understand? It is clear, across the board, that some Romulans have ridges while others don't. It is a retcon of the original TOS creation.

Yes you made that very clear in other posts. :)
That’s why I included examples before the novel one.

I do wonder if Leila Kalomi will factor into the story somehow?
I'm secretly hoping Disco Spock had a pre-Enterprise affair with Uhura...

EDIT: Did some math, Spock is 27 in 2257 and Uhura is either 18 or 24 depending on if you go by the (non-canon) ST Chronology or (also non-canon) IDW Kelvin universe birth years.

That would drive a lot of folks insane. :techman:
Wouldn't bother me, so long as they avoided (or at least further and more directly addressed the ethical implications of) the angle of them being initially instructor and student, complete with glib double entendres about "aural/oral exams" and such, which is what I personally didn't care for in how the matter was handled by ST'09...
