Nothing there says that she has been altered. For all we know, there are ridged Vulcans, much like there are Romulans with smooth foreheads. But, I tend to agree that she was altered.
Posing as a Romulan, not necessarily disguised as one. We know that there are smooth headed Romulans. Spock has no problem posing as Romulan. Why would T'paal would needlessly alter her forehead?
Because we've never seen ridges Vulcans. Ever, before or after her appearance. The evidence suggests that the ridge was because she was posing as a Romulan.
Especially if you've been fighting the same battles over and over, or have seen a particular argument one time too many. And some poor, undeserving poster has the bad luck to be the straw that breaks the camel's back. "Oh, Jesus, this tired old argument again . . . Let me try to drive a stake through it once and for all. And maybe sow the ground with salt while I'm at it." Lord knows I would have not have jumped all over the "divisive" thing if I hadn't been hearing it about DISCO and THE LAST JEDI for months now. Again, it's about the debate, not the poster. (Did I mention that I took two years of Debate in high school?)
No, that makes no sense. The explanation is that the ridges are rarer on Vulcans, and that particular character was such a rare ridged Vulcan for narrative reasons, to misguide the viewers so they wouldn't instantly guess the ruse.
Nothing your saying has basis in the canon or fact. it's fact that Romulans have ridges in the TNG era. It's fact that T'Paal was posing as a Romulan It is fact that no other Vulcans in the history of the franchise has had ridges Therefor she had the head ridge because she was disguised as a Romulan.
So was Spock! It doesn't make sense for Vulcan to alter their appearance in order to pose as Romulan, because we know for a fact that smooth headed Romulans exists.
It is kinda relevant. Your argument is completely illogical, and if you don't see it at this point, I'm not sure I can help you.
So why did Data and Picard have ridges then if smooth was fine? Spock was only smooth headed because his look is iconic, the TNG team would have never changed that.
Something clearly went awry here...perhaps someone conflated Tallera/T'Paal in "The Gambit" (TNG) with T'Pel/Selok in "Data's Day" (TNG)? I'll have to get back to it and sort it all out later... -MMoM
Because that's a look they choose. They needed to be alterd anyway. So you don't think smooth headed Romulans exist? Those in TOS, those in ST:09, and for some bizarre reason no one noticed that Spock didn't look like a Romulan?
Which ones in DS9 didn't have ridged heads? Again I have to point out there are no ridged Vulcans in any other series. No we're all the same episode here.
Don't they? I thought they did! But whatever they still don't look right! Not up to the standard of the original Vulcans as seen in TOS and their fringe seems to be too long! JB
Since all of the Romulans in the 24th century (that we observe) have the V on their forehead and all the Vulcans in the 24th century (that we observe) don't have one, wouldn't it make more sense for a Vulcan to go the extra mile and fit with what is probably the majority at this time? But those are two different alterations, so it's not like adding the "V" doesn't add extra unnecessary effort.
