ESPN Fantasy Football Anyone?

Haha, I uh, kinda got distracted by Batman: Arkham Asylum and forgot about the draft.

Man, auto-draft sucks. Cedric Benson? A continuously uninspiring Larry Johnson? Only one QB and one D/ST? Two Detroit Lions? :wtf:

Though getting Matt Ryan in the sixth round ain't bad (here's hoping he avoids the sophomore slump, and that Roddy White ends his holdout soon), and while I do have two Lions, they're pretty much the only ones worth a damn. This is the first fantasy league I've been in that also featured IDPs, so that'll be interesting.

Roddy White isn't holding out. He got a contract extension.

Hey, you get my PM About the TNZ league? Git 'er done nancy boy!

Glad Adm. Bonz said something, i was crusing through here quickly before bed, and saw that post at 9:03, almost missed it. Had it in my head that it was Tuesday night...

That said, might have been better missing it, drafted badly...

Yeah, I have the Panthers defense on one of my teams and I'm considering making a change.

Started off with a loss in the keeper league- I hate going up agaisnt teams with Adrian Peterson. At least I won in one of my bar leagues (no idea in the other one, since fanball.com's scoring is so screwed up).

A couple years ago when we first drafted for the ESPN Keeper League I took Peterson in the third round and people were saying I took him way too early. Consider this my revenge.

0-1 in this league but 1-0 in my other two leagues. There's still plenty of season left ahead of me to jump into the thick of things in this league. Thinking about giving up on one of my other leagues though because the manager changed the scoring criteria after the last game in order to win a close game.

 nice!

If anyone noticed, I DID make a scoring change in the yearly (non-keeper) league, but it didn't change the outcome of my game at all. I couldn't figure out why my Safety (The DP player, can't come up with his name), hadn't scored any points, despite an interception. Turns out, even if you turn on the DP player, it doesn't default to giving them any categories to score on. So I turned that on and set it up like the keeper league.

Just posting that to remain above-board, and all that. Don't anticipate needing any more changes, just had a brain fart on that one...

^I noticed that, but when I saw that it was all defensive changes, I kinda figured that was the reason you did it. That, and our game wasn't exactly close enough to necessitate you cheating. ;)

I had a question regarding the scoring. Do we really need the extra 3 points for "home field advantage" rule I don't remember that last year.

I don't care for the "home field advantage" points (don't see a reason for giving a team a 3 points for nothing), but it appears to be a default setting for ESPN. I seem to recall some discussion about it in the keeper league last year, but nothing ever came of it. It was never an issue in the yearly league last year- we played that through Yahoo.

Yeah, ESPN defaults to it, and it's how the Keeper League was set up, so I just left it. Everyone should have the same number of home and away games, so it evens itself out enough to not really bother with one way or the other. Just win by more than 3, I guess, if you want to be sure :p

It certainly helped mrcoaster out this week.

I believe three points is what gamblers usually add to the home team in a spread, so that's where it comes from.
