ESPN Fantasy Football Anyone?

Wow, I got a sticky. That's the first sticky thread I've ever had on this board.

Anyway, we need one more person in the yearly league and the draft is Thursday at 8 EDT (5 PDT).

If not anyone here, anyone currently playing that has a friend that wants to play? Want to fill this league and stop worrying about it...

I'm honestly not comfortable including him. Not interested in socializing with him, and ESPN shares a little more personal information (real names, for example) than I'm comfortable sharing with him, considering our history.

I'll ask a buddy from work, he's playing in the yearly baseball league (SilverSnakes), maybe he's interested in the football league as well...

About a different, non-TBBS league, but I figured this was as good of a place to post as any.... I got my first Fantasy FB screwing. I wasn't able to attend the live draft for one of my other leagues, so I set up my player preferences. No one told me that I needed to set my preferences for my top 6,000 players. On a 16 man roster, I have 7 RB's. The only reason I know I'm going to win that league this year is because there were no starting or secondary RB's left for the others to draft.

Fortunately, this taught me a valuable lesson before the draft happened for this league, where I have a title to defend.

I got kicked out after the 10th round, and couldn't get back in at all. Thankfully, I'd put a few people in the watch list, so while getting a few more 'sleepers' than I wanted, it wasn't total disaster. Still not great, though, I've got work to do...

Haha, I uh, kinda got distracted by Batman: Arkham Asylum and forgot about the draft.

Man, auto-draft sucks. Cedric Benson? A continuously uninspiring Larry Johnson? Only one QB and one D/ST? Two Detroit Lions?

Though getting Matt Ryan in the sixth round ain't bad (here's hoping he avoids the sophomore slump, and that Roddy White ends his holdout soon), and while I do have two Lions, they're pretty much the only ones worth a damn. This is the first fantasy league I've been in that also featured IDPs, so that'll be interesting.

Wow... I go from my 7 RB disaster in my other league to a pretty good lineup here. I got the QB I wanted, both kickers who were on top of my list, 2 of the top WR's I wanted, both defenses, the defensive end, and a couple other decent players. Of course, my backup QB is Orton, so Brady's season better not end within in 7 minutes this year.

regardless of getting the QB you wanted, you passed up Adrian Peterson to get him, so not so sure of the logic there, you may have outsmarted yourself...

From where I was, I figured that there was enough RB's out there who post decent yards that I wasn't too worried about getting that position filled, so I focused on some of the harder to fill positions, IMO. And, talking to a friend who had Peterson last year, I guess Peterson was never really hot often enough for him to be a big deal.
