ESPN Fantasy Football Anyone?

Is there any way we can shorten the benches from 7 to 5? 7 seems a bit ridiculous I have to say, and encourages less hands on play and people hoarding players that they're never going to use.

can take a peek at some point, yeah. I mostly just left the defaults in place...

Besides, if someone's bench players are better than your starters, you're likely so outclassed that you're screwed anyway :)

I know it's still early, but we are in July, meaning Training camps are opening up, and that also means a rekindling interest in filling out the Fantasy Football leagues.

This is one that Scout had started when ESPN opened up their interface for the new season and I might as well bounce this thread up so people interested can know there is a league already formed. Hopefully Scout has the password and all that stuff still.

Interesting to note as well that Yahoo finally got with the ballgame and they have Free Live Scoring now too.

Yep, we're all still good here with this. Time to start signing people up again, we've got 4/12 so far, so plenty of room left. Just PM me your email address, and you'll get the ESPN invite!

I saw him make a post in the fantasy baseball thread a couple days ago. I tried flagging him down, but he's missing again.

I am sure come mid to late july he will get it started again. I also have sporadic contact with him off the board and he is still active.

needs to be opened up fairly soon, if only to look over things, pick keepers, and talk pre-season trades...

Anyway, who wants in for the yearly league? PM me your email address!

I re-activated the league since I have LM powers as well, since I help out Coaster on it.

Also pushing back the keeper selection date for obvious reasons since just restarted the league for the next season.

There's just a little over a month before the Draft in the yearly league. I know we can get more than 4 people to sign up. It's been done before.

We used to have 2 leagues, ought to be able to scare up enough to fill a 12-team league. Just PM me your email address to send an invite, and you're in! :)

I think the interest will be there, just give it another couple of weeks. We aren't even into August yet, and training camps haven't opened. Once football season feels close, fantasy interest will pick up.

I'm in for at least the keeper league again this year.

I prefer Yahoo Fantasy Football over ESPN, especially now that live stat tracking has been made free for everyone. But I think it's still a bit too early; mid-August would be better.

Tough to start trying to advertise a league, and organize teams to play, in mid-august, when it takes a while to do so, and games start about 2 weeks after that. It's almost August (despite the shitty weather), so either way, need to get on this ASAP. I'd like to get enough interest in this league to play, but I've got other leagues, so no skin off of my back if people drag this out and it fails...

Not saying we need to DRAFT right away, but we need to have teams signing up if it's going to work at all.

Now that Yahoo has free live scoring, I would gladly switch leagues if we wanted to reactivate the Yahoo league. As for doing it in mid august, we really have to advertise now because the Draft is August 27th. Of course it can always be changed, but in other years this was the time of year to start getting the Fantasy thing going.

If the biggest argument for killing this league and going back to the yahoo league is that they're now about the same, i guess I don't see how it's worth the hassle. Not really a lot of difference between the two at this point, so what's the basis for liking one enough to change? Unless Yahoo has gotten a lot looser about things, ESPN's benefit was that you could really customize the league a lot more, and do divisions, schedule, rules, etc.

Biggest reason I did ESPN this year is because the Keeper league is already there, so for anyone (like myself) doing both leagues, you can manage the whole thing from one location. It's certainly a big time saver for me with baseball, and would prefer to do the same for football.

If someone wants to change over that badly, they're more than welcome to start that league and talk people into changing, but if that's the case, i'm going to pass on the yearly league and just do the keeper league with you guys. too much effort...
