So today I went to the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC for the first day of Star Trek: Mission New York. I met David Gerrold and bought this from him:

Gerrold said that he wrote it for fun last month, in preparation for the con. I haven't read it yet, but I'll report back here once I do!

I just finished the script and it's a lot of fun. It features Cyrano Jones, Koloth, Korax, man-eating tribbles, several fourth-wall breaking moments, and lots of humorously-named redhshirts. Uhura is unhappy about being fourth in command and treated like a telephone operator. Scotty is captured by Klingons. Sulu says "Oh, my." Kirk asks if the Bechdel Test is anything like the Kobayashi Maru. Chekov gets next to nothing to do.

In short, it's pretty entertaining. I've no idea if Gerrold is planning to sell this script outside of conventions, but pick it up if you can. It's well worth the $25 plus tax.

It had better be better than that TAS tribbles thing. Tribbles wore out any humor potential pretty quickly. They're not so much funny as intensely "cute".
