Errors and Inconsistencies - Stretching Credulity [SPOILERS]

One big thing that got me, and didn't even bug me all that much, was when they traveled at warp. The original enterprise, and even the NX-01 with it's older tech, would have been able to see the debris field at warp, and not run smack dab into it.

^True, although, at least at this point in the movie, we're dealing with a pilot that even forgot to "take off the parking break", as Pike put it, and a 17 year old Ensign with an accent so thick that even the ship's computers won't recognize him. There was probably so much going on that they missed it-i.e. the ship's nav computers had determined that this was the spot that they were to drop out of warp, before the debris field was formed. There were probably still ships flying around out there when they made the jump to warp, or the latest calculations of the nav computer. It didn't count on a debris field being there, and therefor gave no alarm.

Speaking of Chekov's accent....don't they have universal translators? Shouldn't he just be speaking Russian, and the translators should translate that into un-accented English? (I guess this is a nitpick for all of Trek, not just this movie.)

Re: Errors and Inconsistencies... [SPOILERS]

Oh good. The Kelvin is in service twenty five years before the events of TOS, yet it has flat panel displays and labeled controls. In TOS there are just photographs of nebulae, blinking lights, and switches. Since the Kelvin is in the same universe as the original E, what explains this difference in continuity?

And you'd think a modern reinterpretation to a 30s scifi movie wouldn't be correct if it didn't use the tech of the 30s right? They updated to make sense. They made a ship that felt a century more advanced than the NX-01.
