Erasing past continuity

We will have to start designing new cannon violations avatars.:p
Maybe the writers will piss us all of by having this series has a dream with the final shot of the doctor in the shower.

so the "Crack" is like the opposite of "Crisis on Infinite Earth's" and Superboy Prime "reality punch"?

*hopes he is using the refrence correctly*

What about the effect of all of those massive tigers falling into the time crack? Would that make everyone forget about them?

Here's something that just occurred to me; The Byzantium still crashed. Angel Bob never existed, but the Byzantium was still sabotaged, and River Song was still sent out by the Church to infiltrate it and secure the crash site. Given that the soldiers in the ship had their memories lost to the crack, we can't just assume everyone in the 51st century has travelled in time and is insulated from the crack's effects. And River isn't a Time Lord, so she can't remember both versions of events the way the Doctor can. So when she got back to prison, what the hell did they think they sent her out for?

I'm thinking there may be quite the little subgenre of fanfic opening up, with rewriting the "Time of Angels" episodes as River's benefactors remembered them, without any actual angels, and, well, hell, pretty much the entire season to this point with how Amy now remembers it.

Maybe she's getting married to Jeff, instead. That'd clean up a lot of loose ends.

I mean people do understand that Steven Moffat isn't going to come round all their houses and steal/erase their DVDs right?

That's not really the point though. The stories may be recorded on DVD, but are they really worth anything anymore?

Well yes.

And these events still happened to the Doctor, the Doctor being the only character in Doctor Who who is ever present?

To be honest the crack makes as much sense in explaining why there was no record of a honking great steam powered robot over Victorian London as...what? Mass hysteria? A Torchwood coverup?

RTD's mantra seemed to be (to quote Moffat) "I'll explain later" and frankly there's only so many times Donna could be scuba diving etc.

In part this is only a problem because RTD insisted on modern day Earth facing giant invasions every week to the point where it could never be covered up/explained away. If the Cyberman presence in Victorian times had been limited to them skulking around graveyards and the like it would have been completely feasible to have them forgotten by history. But a Transformer big enough to be seen, not only by every inhabitant of London not drunk asleep or up a chimney, but probably by thousands of people in the surrounding area...sorry either people remember that or there has to be another explanation.

Not that I'm just bashing RTD on this, Classic Who was just as guilty (Loch Ness Monster swimming up the Thames anyone?)

Sorry but, these events never happened makes at least as much sense as nobody remembering it because they were all looking the other way at the time.

Wamrue Superboy is the one responsible for the spatial temporal cracks...the Doctor was grabbed by something inside the crack and struggled for a couple of minutes at the end of "Cold Blood" that was Superboy Prime trying to drag him in there, he wanted a go at a Time Lord.

it isnt hard people

I thought the Doctor was more closely alined with the Marvel verse, but im sure they have retconned him out of the timeline a few times now.

It was probaly the Hulk trying to take the Dcotor.

Well, Superboy Prime was the Time Trapper in Legion of Three Worlds.
