Episodes you like but ,,,

Genesis & The Neutral Zone weren't bad, but some of the other suggestions - well I think we'll agree to disagree on them ;)

Shades of Gray is far, far from the worst episode of the series.

I always liked the Gambit two parter but no-one seems to rave about it. Nothing wrong with The Child either. Has a fantastic opening shot. Was watching it the other day - for 1988 the effects are pretty amazing as the shuttle flies out of the bay.

Always enjoyed The Last Outpost as well.

OMG I loved The Last Outpost! The Chinese fingertrap scenes were classic! Great humor throughout the episode, too!

This is a minority opinion, but I actually enjoy 25 out of 26 episodes from Season 1 with "Angel One" being the lone exception as to the episode that I am not too fond of.

My degree of likability for these episodes range from "excellent" to "very good" to "good" to "average." But none of them are bombs to me, except for of course "Angel One." I really like the look, style, and the stories presented in this inaugural season.

But, that's just me and what happens to be the only season of TNG on my DVD shelf, besides the TNG episodes included in the Borg and the Q Fan Collectives.

If you loved that, then you are definitely going to love Kevin Smith's Chasing Amy! :D

During the recent best episode poll on the TNG board, I was the only person who admitted voting for Sub Rosa during the season 7 round, although I noticed a few others voted for it. ;)

Oh no no no no no, had I been here recently, I most certainly would've voted for it. I love that episode! And guess what, back in 1994, many people actually liked it as I recall, at least in the circles that I got my Trek information from back then (my friends and brother, the episode guide/review book DAS STAR TREK UNIVERSUM by Ralph Sander, and German fanzine TREKWORLD).... wasn't that unpopular!

It's weird yes, but great atmosphere... It's the better version of "Catspaw"!

Also, I'm a fan of many Season 1 episodes. I do hate Angel One, but I never saw what was so wrong with Haven, or Justice, or Home Soil.

I always liked Rascals even though many people don't really like that episode. I also liked Man of the People mostly because there were some good Riker/Troi moments in that episode. My avatar was taken from the last scene.

The Outcast. "Commander, tell me about you sexual organs". Good laughs, a socially relavant plot and a heartbreaking ending.

"The Outcast" is a good choice, it's an episode I've always kind of liked and a better gay analog than the DS9 changling one.

I like "Genesis," "Masks," and "Emergence." I even don't mind "Eye of the Beholder," and I really dig "Thine Own Self." Overall I think I enjoy season 7 a lot more than the average TNG fan. Same way I look at B5's 5th season---a mature cast and staff maing their last episodes. Perhaps a bit flawed, but still great to see all my favorite characters on screen for one more season.

I was going to say "Sub Rosa" like I did the last time a similar question was asked, but after three other people have said it, it may be DQed. ;)

How about this, I am one of very few straight females who like "Sub Rosa."

Indeed!
I actually thought the main group of fans who would like Sub Rosa would be the straight females. And the hetro guys (like me) usually dismiss this episode through fear of showing their hidden feminine side. ;)

Anyway, glad to see Sub Rosa finally getting some love on these boards, for too long it has been the punch bag episode of TNG.

AV DQed = Disqualified

...either that or it means taken to Dairy Queen. I'm not that good at netspeak.

BRG The only "good" thing I hear about "Sub Rosa" is usually about Gates McFadden having to fake an orgasm for the camera, that's why I thought that being a straight female who liked it for other reasons (or just for liking it for other reasons at all) I would be in the minority.

^I wouldn't mind being disqualified so long as I can go to Dairy Queen. ;)

When I first saw Sub Rosa, I didn't even know what an orgasm was. I just thought it was a good episode.

I rather like "Up The Long Ladder." It's fun and kinda light-hearted, something TNG was usually very bad at.

I've a soft spot for Masks and I'll agree with whoever said Manhunt -sure it has no plot, but Rex the barkeep is hilarious.

I love "Hero Worship" and "Thine Own Self", which don't seem to be very popular. "The Outcast" always makes me teary.

Conversely, everyone seems to love "Family" and "Inner Light", which you couldn't pay me to sit through again.
