Episodes nobody ever talks about

I love "A Private Little War." Don't look now Captain, but you're in one of those no-win scenarios that you don't believe in. Top 10 TOS episode for me.

The violation of the Prime Directive still bugs me, but that's the way the ball bounces.

Honestly, the wigs bother me more than the PD violation.

The mugato costume looked more natural than the giant mutant tribbles the villagers had strapped to their heads.

I should've added A Taste of Armageddon

The attack shown on the computer screen was pretty cool.

Shooting on location at that futuristic 'city' really helped the episode. IIRC, it was actually the former headquarters of TRW, now it is Northrup/Grumman.

It looks like a Klan meeting broke out on Easter Island.

I just have a low tolerance for 'parallel planet' episodes. I mean, what was going to be next...a Girls Gone Wild parallel planet?

Don't give the Discovery writers any ideas!

I can't think of anything good in The Mark of Gideon

I watched this one again recently, I actually liked it.

I love S3...

So you give the planet to the Klingons?

I should've added A Taste of Armageddon

My favorite episode of Star Trek.

Before I entered this thread, I was thinking The Immunity Syndrome. I still think it has the best visual effect in Star Trek, the Aomeba.

It also seems like a lot of Season 3 doesn't get a mention. A lot of it I find really weird, like Lights of Zetar, or the one about over population (I think that's Mark of Gideon, but I get that one and Whom Goes Destroy confused all the time for some reason).

No. I'd drop a herd of Mugatos on the planet and let the Klingons make friends with them.

I don't know how to say this in a delicate way but does that Mugato have a vagina or is the hair just looking kind of suspect? Kind of shocking because I am use to monsters not having sexual organs when I see them on tv and movies.

One of my favourites as a child! Those Amoeba's throbbing and errking scared me when I first saw them clinging to the underside of that room! The command decision on Kirk's shoulders to not let them go beyond Deneva also was excellent!

This one creeped me out as a kid, too. It's the first episode of the series that I can remember watching.
The Naked Now also freaked me out for some reason. I was probably 4 or 5 watching it on my brother's 13 inch b&w Quasar tv.

So you give the planet to the Klingons?
It's an interesting question. The Federation has a Prime Directive, but other space faring races don't. So what happens when another space faring race lands and spills the beans to a pre-warp culture? I guess all bets are off then for the Federation. There's nothing to hide anymore, so they can just openly work with the culture at that point.
