Episode Title Allusions?

No, Earth obscured Marvin's view of Venus. Planet X was the world he claimed for Mars. You got to it by following a string of 23 other planets in a certain sequence... :D

Actually, "Planet X" was the name used for a hypothetical tenth planet beyond Pluto (an idea we now know to have been on the right track). So the "X" had a double meaning, ten in Roman numerals as well as "unknown."

I think the Trouble with Tribbles is an illusion about there being some sort of trouble with those tribble things.

(Seriously though, I just watched More Tribbles, More Trouble (TAS) with David Gerrold's audio. He say Fred Freiberger shot it down as a third season live ep. because (acc. to Freiberger) "Star Trek is not a comedy." Good thing he safeguarded the franchise so carefully or we might have ended up with Spock getting his brain stolen or, say, doing a flamenco dance around Kirk's head, then braying like a horse. Phew, that was a close-y!)
