It was implied that Vina could produce children, despite her age.

...And despite her crippling disfigurement. And it's stupid implications like this that make the episode nonsensical.

Degradation isn't worse than physical torture, no one said that. It is very bad, though ... especially if actual torture and death are likely to top off the evening.

Degradation is worse, sort of, because it can go on forever, and usually there's nothing that can be done about it even in supposedly law-abiding societies.
