Episode "Ascent"

Nakita Akita

Commodore
Commodore
the episode with Quark and Odo, while Odo was a human, I watched that the other night, not even for the first time, I was actually cracking up.

When Quark loses his hearing in one ear and he covered his ear and keeps saying "hello" in differing pitches, is so funny.

And when Odo says for Quark not to look at his leg because he'll just pass out again!

That is now one of my favorite episodes.
Did anyone else find those two interacting as funny as I did. Or was I just breathing fumes from my neighbor's house that night?

I find it to be one of the most comforting episodes. Simple premise, light tone, good character dynamics, and beautiful locations make it easy to watch. It also reminds me of the best episodes of Survivorman.

I loved it when Quark was complaining about the buzzing noise and Odo smacking his lips when he eats soup, and Odo responds with "Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz," and then smacks his lips.

I like a lot of things about this episode, but every time I see it I'm newly impressed by what an astounding job they did of making that hot California location look like a cold alien world.

The climb up to Mt. Witney is very cold about 8 months out of the year. It's the altitude.
