Probably because it has a strong British atmosphere, but watching the movie "Mortal Engines" this weekend , it stuck me the overall screamed for the doctor's arrival. True, if that were the case it would diminished the focus upon the lead characters as it would have it would have called for the Doctor to save the day. But the overall "high concept", the notion of future London dug from the soil and plopped upon giant tank treads to pillage the whole of Europe and Asia is the very kind of "wild premise" at which Doctor Who excelled. So, what other properties beg for the Doctor's "involvement" (read: interference) ? (I suspect this topic has likely been discussed earlier, but I also suspect any have probably been dormant for more than a year. That's why I'm starting a new one per the site's TOS.
