I had mentioned a few weeks back how thrilling it was to see my son's music group play the Voyager theme live in concert....imagine seeing a professional group play ST music?

^^ Yeah, I agree with Kpnuts -- it sounded like the crowd went wild! I would have loved to hear them and see them on their feet. Too bad the clipmeister didn't include some of that.

Wow, that was absolutely stunning. I'd LOVE to see that live! Enterprising Young Men is definitely my favorite piece on the sound track.

I don't know anything about the group performing or about the event at which the performance took place, but since I'm pretty sure that no published score is available yet for any of the Star Trek music, it occurs to me that someone has to have been pretty busy transcribing the piece from the audio recording, working out the arrangement and orchestration, lining up the musicians for the orchestra and chorus and getting it all rehearsed. An impressive undertaking, having all that together and ready for performance this soon.

Okay, ignore all of the above. This appears to be a fairly major international festival for film music of which I'd just not been aware before (which isn't surprising, given that I don't follow such festivals very closely.) I found a list of what else appeared on the same program as the performance shown in the YouTube clip in the OP. That would have been quite a concert to hear.

I love listening to the music of Star Trek, but sadly have never had the opportunity to listen to it live. However, for my last band concert my senior year of HS (this past May) by band director did me a favor and we played TMP Suite, which included the main theme, the love theme and the Klingon theme. It went really well and they even talked me into coming on stage in uniform. Probably the most embarrasing thing I've done so far!
