Enterprise theme music on youtube...awful

Everyone thinks they have better ideas on how the theme should have been executed for Enterprise, but I just spent 10 awful minutes listening to alternate versions on youtube that were excruciating! I'm so glad fans were not allowed to pick the theme.

Ah, you're probably referring to mine... Fine, it's a fair cop. I'll come quitely. :p

I re-edited CGI from the show (adding some new shots and an animated Fed logo created by Skippy2k), to create this one:

Overlaying the Bakula "Where No Human..." speech from the ST.com final episodes promo. Paramount can obviously do far better and since I'm fantasizing what could be done with a truckload of $.... a different take of Archer reading that most iconic of Star Trek quotes, wouldn't have gone amiss.

I appreciate "Archer's Theme" isn't everyone's cup of tea but then, "Faith of the Heart" never really offended me either.

After a flash of 60's inspiration watching classic Star Trek, I began to imagine how the End Credits would like, old school, with Dennis McCarthy's instrumental. Only the first few stills have captions, and there's no CBS/Paramount logo at the end, but you get the idea.

I had no trouble with what they had. I understood the concept. However, I liked the faster season 3 & 4 version better.

I never minded the title song and until this day I can't understand the outrage over it at all. It's fine if people don't like it, but you only got to hear it for like a minute each week, provided you watched the episode on TV (otherwise you can just skip it altogether).

Yeah, a few of the YouTube alternate themes blow. The actual theme for the show wasn't anything shattering or momentous by a longshot, but at least it was an original leap for B&B to use the song. One of the small handful of original leaps they took between 2001 and 2005.

I really like the Archer's Theme version, specially with the Bakula voice over. Somewhat quiet but still inspiring and epic...
It was, as I recall, the original intention...minus voice-over I think...

"Faith of the Heart"? Wasn't that bad in the first two seasons...

Btw ChristopherPike, where's that "Enterprise, Vulcan and Andorian ships Warp away, and Flag of the Federation appears" shot from?

My wife likes the theme a lot. She sings it when we watch it. I was somewhat indifferent to the theme and I guess she has influenced my opinion since. Looking at all these internet themes has also enlightened me.

I do not mind the opening theme for ENT. I actually like it, as it goes well with the photo montage. I also remember back in the day, when TNG first premiered. They used the theme from ST:TMP, and everyone went "WTF?? Couldn't they come up with something original?"

I hated 'Faith Of The Heart' at first as it was such a massive change in Trek direction. Of course, now I love it and sing along loudly to it, because now I buy it's message, whereas at the beginning I certainly didn't.

I think they could have struck a compromise and had the 'Faith Of The Heart' theme tune played without the voice for the opening titles and then had the same tune with the voice added over the end credits, so we still get the message of the words, but not in that "in your face" kind of way.

VOYAGER's theme was vastly superior to most of the show itself. It'll always rank in my top two TREK themes along with classic TOS.

 i LOVE the enterprise theme tune! it's my fave of all the trek theme tunes.

i haven't got a clue why people don't seem to like it, i always sing along loudly, and it's such a happy, optimistic song too.

Generally agree. It was truly original(for TREK, anyways). A real change in taste and departure for the producers and franchise.

Faith of the Heart was a fitting theme for Enterprise. The show really was about Archer's dream of exploring the galaxy no matter what and the song was all about that.

I was surprised at first not to hear some variation of the classic Star Trek theme, but it's a beautiful song and it's fitting to the show.

We'll all still be having this debate twenty years from now. I can see it as clearly as I see my keyboard. The theme arguments will NEVER end.

Eh. It doesn't have to be an argument. There is no "winner," just different opinions. Some folks like "Faith of the Heart" and some don't. I liked it. I thought the words fit the theme of the show well.
