ENTERPRISE returns to Croatia

Broken Bow (part 1) is scheduled to air (for the second time) on HRT (Croatian National Television on Thursday, April 1st (hopefully its not an April fools joke :))...

The show will air on regular daily basis (Monday to Friday), and I plan on re-watching most of it (I think I'll skip the sh#t tier episodes).

It's been a while since the last episode I've seen (Terra Prime, back in October 2008, I think), so I'm kinda looking forward to this.

Who knows, maybe I'll get some fresh perspective on the show. I'll definitely let you know, if I do.

So now they'll have aired 4 Trek shows in a row - TNG, DS9, VOY and, when it finishes, ENT... Have they ever aired TOS?

For me the bad episodes were not as bad the second time through. By then I had developed a connection to the characters and thus was more forgiving to the writers.

So, I re-watched "Broken Bow." Apparently, Qo'noS is four days away from Earth at warp 4.5. That doesn't make it any less great, though. It really is the best of all Star Trek pilots.

Archer was really OK, though Scott Bakula was somewhat wooden at times. The "knocking you on your ass" moment wasn't as great as I remembered it (Bakula over-acted it), but it still remains my favorite Archer moment of them all.

BTW, I still love the decon scene. Hated Blalock's styling, though. The wig and makeup were lousy, so was her attire.

I totally loved the whole Suliban / Future guy thing. Too bad that storyline went nowhere.

Overall, Broken Bow is a solid 8.5/10.

I am watching it on HRT for the first time. Voyager just finished, and I expect many months of SF experience from Enterprise crew! So far very good, I am just not very satisfied with acting of T'pol (Blalock), compared to cmdr. Tuvok (Voyager) she's just avarage as a Vulcan female, but very nice as a human :D.

Oh, I think you'll find her VERY different from Tuvok, more and more so as the show progresses! :techman:

Watched it :)
Omg, they don't have tractor beam :S ... When did they invent it? Will it happen in this Enterprise or it was in TOS?

And I noticed that they walk without any problems on a comet. :S

That Vulcan ship (Surok class) looked very interesting, just, there weren't any close ups ... :(

Just curious: are the episodes shown in English with subtitles, or are they dubbed?
:wtf::eek: Good heavens, no!

We only dub kids' movies... That sucks too. But usually theaters show both dubbed and subtitled versions.

Jesus, just a thought of seeing Connor Trinneer speak, and hearing some Croatian dude's voice makes my brain bleed.

Dubbing literally robs actors of their vocal performances. BTW, subtitles help people learn foreign languages. You really think I learned English in school? :D

^ Dubbing is an abomination. It's practically almost the same thing as shooting the same script with different actors and calling it the same film/show. I feel very lucky that I didn't grow up watching dubbed TV shows and films.

BTW, oddly enough, I have two channels on my TV showing ENT right now. SciFi channel is showing season 4 - I watched In A Mirror Darkly (I didn't mean to watch it since I've seen it just a few months ago, but it was so great I couldn't stop ;) ) and Terra Prime has just finished, while season 1 is on HRT - Silent Enemy is on right now.

Silent Enemy episode:
They finally installed some decent weapons :). I hope to see more encounters with that unknown species. Somehow they reminded me to species 8472, because of that strange movement ...

"Dear Doctor" aired just yesterday. You should all see the argument we're having at USSCroatia.hr forums... Jesus, it's like a war zone over there.

Too bad I haven't got the time to translate some of the juicier stuff and quote it here... :D

So, friday marked the end of a sweet little era with the airing of "Terra Prime." TATV was on yesterday, and as expected, most Croatian fans hated it, while the few who deny ENT's right to bare the name "Star Trek" loved the shit out of it, because it "proved" that the whole show was nothing more than a mere lousy holo-novel...

So, for the first time in almost three years, there's no Star Trek on Croatian TV...

But hey, Veronica Mars just inherited the time slot... Yeeey... :shifty:

I don't hate TATV anymore. Now I find it just to be - ridiculous.
It could be considered seriously, but only as an episode of TNG. I can't possibly imagine real ENT crew chatting with chef, that's so TNGish. They seemed like a lab rats with all that stupid "computer freeze program". I won't even mention how all male actors looked younger then ever and T'Pol's acting. Please, she was peeling a carrot (?!) and made grimaces like she was back on Trellium D... things she said and how, it just didn't seem like her at all...
So now I appreciate the idea - but it seems so much like a joke that it simply can't be taken seriously.

I can't believe that I had it on DVD for two years and still I forced myself to watch it for the second time only when it was back on TV. It is so easily ingnored, and now that I don't hate TATV as much I can watch TNG again
