A fella name Gary Kerr, who worked with the current restoration team, was present for much of the '91 restoration. Gary used knowledge and measurements gained back then to design the 1/350 scale model kit put out by Polar Lights/Round 2 Models a few years ago, and is widely considered the model kt community's Enterprise expert. I wouldn't be surprised if Ed simply declines the opportunity to talk about this. He took a lot of flak from Star Trek fans for a long time, and probably wants to put it all behind him for good.
