Enterprise Restoration

Barry Gordemer

Cadet
Newbie
Hello,

I'm a producer for NPR News. I'm doing a story on the Smithsonian's restoration of the Enterprise. I'm looking for someone to interview about the controversial restoration/paint job done on the model in 1991.

Contact me at bgordemer@npr.org

Thanks

Barry

A fella name Gary Kerr, who worked with the current restoration team, was present for much of the '91 restoration. Gary used knowledge and measurements gained back then to design the 1/350 scale model kit put out by Polar Lights/Round 2 Models a few years ago, and is widely considered the model kt community's Enterprise expert. He can be found on Facebook, and on the sci fi modeling forum at HobbyTalk.com

You guys just ruined my chance to be interviewed on NPR. "For the fiftieth anniversary of Star Trek, we will be speaking with some anonymous fan from an internet message board for insight on the controversial restoration of the Enterprise model in 1991."

:p

So you missed out on the opportunity to be heard by eighteen people?

I wouldn't be surprised if Ed simply declines the opportunity to talk about this. He took a lot of flak from Star Trek fans for a long time, and probably wants to put it all behind him for good.
