Always loved the geometric design of that handrail. But of course the whole NX-01 set is a quite cool design. Herman Zimmerman is a genius.
I love the NX01 bridge layout. BTW didn't one of the US armed forces look at Trek in the past especially the bridge layout and how people are positioned?
INSCOM used a StarTrek design with the primary intent to woo policy makers. INSCOM has always had difficulty getting a "voice" at the policy table despite a tremendous amount of capabilities. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-us-army-star-trek-command-center-2013-9
I think I like the design too... Sadly I didn't found my chair yesterday I'm back to scare one, but I have another idea VW seats from some model (GTI GLI) look close but are rare, I think I might use a Acura TL or TSX around 2005 they seem to look close enough and leather seats are more common in these cars. Maybe I'll go again Monday.
LOL I just cracked myself up with this image of a sports car type bucket seat and a pedastal rising up out of the floor with a steering wheel for the captain, and foot pedals rising up.
You do realize you are actually reliving one of the Enterprise episodes with the Captains chair where the crew goes paranoid and Trip can't get it exactly right
LOL! You're right! I now need to re watch that episode, hmm can remember I'll have to dig a bit... But my problem is not only making it right, it's make it looking as close as possible as the real one. That is harder...
I can't go there. DS9 and Enterprise episodes are like Pringles to me I can't have just one and end up binge watching.
Oh hang on Insurrection..... That was the one where a joystick popped up in front of the Captain's chair wasn't it? haha.......
I'm back, after a ton of Youtube tutorial and DIY I finally decide that the best way to get a good replica is what I'm doing from the beginning : Doing it myself! I was to do most of it anyways so... How hard could it be!? Keep you posted when I start, my wife got me on some home improvement first but I'll get it done at warp speed PS. The washroom is completed! It's just a washroom but I had to do a little something
I found this Adam Savage video..... It's topically relative to this thread, in that it's about a Captain Kirk chair he made.
What got me was the amount of work they did to get that all working properly, and Adam's enthusiasm is infectious.
Yes Adam is quite a joyful person I don't know if he's like that all the time or it's just the way he act but still he his entertaining to watch and I've learn quite a lots watching his YT channel. Anyhow here's some up to date pictures of my bridge :
