Enterprise Leaves Spacedock - Star Trek VI Tribute with James Horner score

Slip it in the Directer's Cut. The booster firings and especially the 1/4 impulse acceleration out of Spacedock were great.

I already said most of this on another forum, but ... I thought a lot of what was done was VERY good.

Then I saw the thrusters and I about cheered ... then I saw the LAST SHOT of exiting the station with the camera looking rearward over the cylindrical hull and I SHOUTED "OH SWEET!" It's been a LONG time since a shot affected me so. WELL DONE!

Well done, indeed.

It isn't often that I am so impressed by someone's work. This is spectacular.

That was fucking great! The golden atmospheric touches to the shot of the shuttle lifting off over San Francisco, the look of Spacedock in Earth orbit, all wonderful!

Love those thrusters. I'm really enjoying the SNW take on the TOS era, but I miss that sort of touch, where the TOS movies feel like watching an in-universe historical piece. The tech is clearly well beyond ours, but still has those little touches that connect it to physical reality.

I also appreciate that you used the track from James Horner’s score for Star Trek III when our heroes escape the Genesis Planet going all explodey. I am fairly sure I have never seen a fan video use that particular stretch of music before, which is a shame because it’s so triumphant and bright. Your stunning visual of the Enterprise literally blasting out of Spacedock (a terrific answer to a similar scene from Star Trek Beyond) beautifully corrects that oversight of Horner’s work. Bravo!

I already gushed about this on YouTube, but I'll do it again here. Phenomenal work. It's not just technically impressive in terms of the CGI, the virtual cinematography, directing (blocking & staging, continuity, etc.), and editing are all on point, too. Well done! Please, please explore more content in this particular time period (STIV - TNG). It's such a massive gap in Trek history to expand upon, and the aesthetic is just *chef's kiss*.

This is incredible. Really shows the beauty of these old ship designs when combined with current rendering techniques. I remember the novelisation of Star Trek VI describes the Enterprise "screaming out of Spacedock" at one quarter impulse, whereas the movie itself shows a rather sedate exit, so this jives nicely with that scene from the book that's been in my head for thirty years. I really hope there'll be more movie effects sequences reimagined in this way! :luvlove:
