ENTERPRISE Anthology

Man of Steel

Since we have an anthology for TOS, TNG, DS9 and VGR, we should get an anthology for ENT because then we will have an anthology for every series that aired. Hell, we have a NF anthology.

What do you think?

Each series has had an anniversary anthology... DS9's 10th in 2003, VGR's 10th in '05, TOS's 40th in '06, TNG's 20th in '07. If the pattern holds, we should have one for ENT's 10th anniversary in 2011 to complete the set.

I'd like to see an Enterprise anthology. Since other recent anthologies were for the shows' anniversaries, I'm hoping we'll get one for Enterprise's 10th anniversary in 2011.

ENT is by far my least favorite TV series and book series too. But if they release an anthology I'll buy it just because.

That would be a very nice way to do the Romulan war.

Except the standard anniversary anthology format has been to tell standalone stories spanning the entire run of the series (or in TNG's case, the series and movies). An Earth-Romulan War anthology wouldn't be an ENT-anniversary anthology, it'd be something else.

One story that never ran during Enterprise which i thought would have been great was that Professor Rassmussen. He was the guy who came from the 22nd Century with a time ship from the 26th in an ep of TNG. I would have liked to have seen that story on how he got that ship....IMO

There was a rumor of a possible Rasmussen episode of ENT. It would have been a prequel to his TNG appearance. We would have learned that Rasmussen and Archer were roommates at MIT. But I don't think it was 'real' - just a hoax. :(

Even if there was a short story contest for such an ENT collection, the small print would undoubtedly mean I couldn't enter. Typically not open to non U.S. residents and all that legal business.

But, I can see that idea being a success (at least in terms of entries, obviously don't know about quality). What with all the fan ideas and road maps that have criss-crossed the web since the cancellation. Pining after those lost years, seems to be the main lot in life for fanatics of the show... Oh yes, you bet your life we're out there!

I definitely have been wanting an Enterprise anthology series of stories to come out for the series 10th anniversary. I enjoyed reading the Dominion war stories the ds9 anthology the Tos and Tng books.:techman:I'd like to see stories that takes place over the four seasons of the series.

That applied only to Strange New Worlds. The other short story collections (Constellations, et al.) weren't contests.

Why don't they just do marketing surveys like everyone else?

They do, only they refer to this practice as "Checking the sales numbers on previous series-based anthologies and Star Trek: Enterprise books." :)
Besides which, I don't believe any publisher, let alone "everyone," does marketing surveys to determine what type of books to publish.

And God help us if they did.
