Pretty sure if everything is true, and assuming that I am at the gates of Heaven therefore everything up to this point is true, then I should be "in" no problem because I've done everything I should.
You only get in if you Believe.
Are you a murderous, bigoted, scumbag who raped children? Yep, but I believed in God and accepted Jesus as his son and my Savior. You're in!
Are you a virtuous, kind, giving person who loved everyone, was charitable, and never harmed a fly? Yes, but I'm an atheist. To HELL WITH YOU!
Remember, not all those who wander are lost.As far as the atheists go, it's unfortunate that they are lost forever, but they have every opportunity to seek Christ while they are still here.
You've just died and you're now standing at the gates of Heaven and St Peter (or whoever it's supposed to be) is stood there and asks you a question, he asks you "do you believe that you deserve to enter Heaven?".
The question is irrelevant. Without knowing exactly what 'entering heaven' is going to mean for me, I would be unable to answer.
And I don't know... and neither do you.

The difference is that if someone has accepted Christ and He is in that person's heart, that person would no longer be the person he was before.

But no one consider themselves a evil. Murderers, tyrants and genocides thought that they did it for the greater good, or at least that they were justified in their action.s As the story goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. If someone has been aand thought of nobody but themselves and not done much good then i'd say they wouldn't be worthy of entering.
There is no "some time in hell". It' all or nothing.Perhaps they'd feel guilty and agree to spend some time in hell to repent.
Well, actually, who doesn't? Would you prefer to spend your eternal life with a motherfucker who truly adores you, or with a quite upstanding person that doesn't give a flying shit about you?Doesn't change the fact that God doesn't care how good you are He just wants people who love Him.
I had to correct your post.No one deserves to get to heaven.
Well, actually, who doesn't? Would you prefer to spend your eternal life with a motherfucker who truly adores you, or with a quite upstanding person that doesn't give a flying shit about you?
What is your answer?

I'll chose the former. I will stand with people I love even if they were bad people (and in fact my girlfriend can be quite a self-described mean hag at times). The latter.Well, actually, who doesn't? Would you prefer to spend your eternal life with a motherfucker who truly adores you, or with a quite upstanding person that doesn't give a flying shit about you?
I can't argue with that since my knowledge of the Bible is somewhat limited, but I'm pretty sure that my catholic teachers told me that hell is eternal and can be only so because it's out of time, stuck in an ever-lasting moment of now (the same would be true for heaven).Nowhere in the bible does it say that. There is no "some time in hell". It' all or nothing.
Had God wanted us to buy into that story, he would have made it believable. As far as the atheists go, it's unfortunate that they are lost forever, but they have every opportunity to seek Christ while they are still here.
