ENTER - VOY Avatar Contests - Caretaker

A new day has dawned for the VOY Avatar Contests my friends!

We'll be starting over with Caretaker this week.

Some new rules are in force: 1.) in order to take the burden off of one person from running each and every contest, the winner of the episode contests will run the subsequent contest, while the winners of the theme contests will continue to select the next themes, 2.) the contests will last as long as the contest runner wishes them to run (this opening one will last one week, so we can get the ball rolling quickly).

Other than that, the same size rules apply - 140x140 or 70k max.

And so, this week's contests will be....

Episode:
Caretaker
-Our favorite crew gets pulled into the Delta Quadrant, starting seven years of wonderful adventures.

VOY Theme:
Favorite Crew Member (selected by Jetfire)
-Any member of the VOY crew you like, admire, or wanted to see more of.

Random Theme:
WTF! (selected by Admiral Shran)
-Any picture that just makes you scratch your head in confusion and/or disbelief.

Winners will be awarded.... the Golden Neelix (designed by Jetfire).

The entry thread will remain open for four days, until Friday night, followed by a three day voting thread.

Using a program like paint.net or photoshop you create an avatar picture (the little pics by everyone's name on trekbbs) surrounding the theme of the contest. There are three categories per contest, an episode, a VOY theme where the avatar must be from a Voyager episode, and a random theme where the avatar can be from anywhere. Find a suitable picture based around the theme and crop it to size. In a few days a poll will be posted with your entry and gets voted on. It's pretty simple and fun. If you're new dont worry about it practice makes everyone better. trekcore.com and star-trek-voyager.net have some good Voyager pics.

You can be creative and animate them, alter, etc. Just as long as the pics are at least loosely based around the theme.

She would have made for a more interesting helmsman than Tom "Poor-man's-Riker" Paris. Don't get me wrong, I like Tom, especially what they did with him and B'Elanna, I just didn't find him very interesting as a character.

I've always had a thing for Tal. She sucks at maths and she's cute - what's not to like?

You stay away from Tal! I saw her first!

I thought about using a Tal Celes one, as she is my favorite recurring character (and, of course, she's drop-dead gorgeous), but I couldn't find a screencap that I really liked. So, I went with a Naomi one instead.
