I've never really considered Vader a henchmen...he's only really shown to be the Emperor's bitch in Revenge of the Sith (before he was really Vader) and Return of the Jedi (figured that was all Luke's fault, anyway).

Vader was shown to be subservient to the Emperor in at least one scene of The Empire Strikes Back and was definitely his bitch in Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith.
