This week's contest is devoted to the most memorable baddies in film or TV, the big bad that steals the show and makes the story better just by showing up.

One catch: NO SCI FI or FANTASY. So no Darth Vader. :p

I'll put the poll up Wednesday, unless anyone objects.

I'll go with Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men."

^ this guy and Morgan Freeman made Prince of Thieves worth watching.
My original choice before I settled on the "other" Rickman villain. :) Definitely gets my vote.

Incidentally, I once read a review of that film which suggested that each of the five main actors appeared to perform as if they were in a different movie from each other: Costner in a sports movie, Mastrantonio in a lush costume epic, Slater in a soap opera, Rickman in a pantomime, Freeman in an inspirational drama. It wasn't that far off, really.

^

You & I may be the only ones who remember him in that movie...

...plus, my Google fu failed me, and I couldn't find a decent screencap.

Now that you mention it ...
