Just got a new idea. I'll change my entry from Lone Ranger & Tonto to:
maryann_ginger.jpg

Mary Ann and Ginger from Gilligan's Island.

I really think that counts as SF/F
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spy-fi
The earlier John Steed/Emma Peel episodes of The Avengers tended toward action-adventure, with no fantasy or SF elements. Things only got a bit more “far out” in the later shows.

But I’ll leave it to the contest runner to make the call.

Well, I know next to nothing about the show (I'm too young for that), but from what wikipedia tells me about it, it does fall under the science fiction and fantasy genres, and is clearly classified as spy-fi, which is obviously a type of sci-fi (even the Steed/Peel era... it had killer robots and aliens and stuff like that). Unlike the Sherlock movie which is classified as an action mystery on wikipedia. So, sorry scotpens, but it looks like you'll have to find another entry. It's not like there isn't plenty of other options remaining, though. ;)

ETA: If anybody needs any ideas, I recommend Adam and Jamie from the Mythbusters, or Shaggy and Scooby-Doo.

^^ Very well, then. How about another classic male-female team from the Sixties?

The only science-fictiony thing about these two was the way they dressed!

Good idea but that's not the real Sonny and Cher. They're imitators
