Aren't James Bond and Mary Poppins SF/F?

I don't think the first James Bond remotely qualifies as sci-fi. It's been a while since I've seen it, but i remember it as a pretty straight forward spy thriller.

Hmm...a diabolical genius with metal hands and his own nuclear reactor using radio waves to topple American rockets? Ok it isn't exactly Moonraker but still...

From Russia With Love on the other hand is definitely a straightforward spy thriller.

Mary Poppins. I had a childhood crush on Julie Andrews anyway.

Hmmm. Good points. I guess Mary Poppins, with the dancing in the chalk drawings, flying, and so forth does qualify for Fantasy, so that would be out. Sorry about that, bbjeg.

Not sure about the James Bond. It so often walks the line between plain silly action flick or downright scifi. I shall have to ponder this one. Maybe change it from Dr. No to From Russia With Love?

I liked the Dr No one better, but since From Russia With Love seems less ambiguous regarding the sci-fi here is my new entry.

I think I'm going to sit this one out. I've only seen so many movies of the 60s, and most of them have already been claimed. Good luck everyone though.

Steve McQueen had a few great films you could use. Or go with an exploitation film, something with Tura Satana?
