It's time again for a new contest...

Episode:
What Are Little Girls Made Of?

In search of Nurse Chapel's fiancé, renowned exobiologist Roger Korby, the Enterprise visits the icy planet Exo III, where Korby has discovered an ancient machine which allows him to duplicate any living person with an android replacement. Korby plans to use the machine to spread controlled androids throughout the Federation, and replaces Captain Kirk with such a duplicate in an effort to take over the Enterprise.

TOS Theme:
Re-used Tech. Any device or technology that you've seen used in a couple of episodes, but with different purposes and origins. It might look exactly the same, or be slightly modified. A simple animated GIF showing two uses would probably help, but not required.

Happy Holidays! Anything (winter) holiday related.

The couple of things I could think of are already entered...

The re-use of tech doesn't have to be exact, either. You can see how Nomad was partially reused for the Romulan cloaking device and Mr. Flint's robot.

The Eminiar disruptors seen in Taste of Armageddon were cannibalized from Mr. Spock's tri-sensor device. The Tholian vessel was reused for the Aurora in The Way To Eden. Just to name a few more.

Doctor Crater in The Man Trap uses a laser pistol from The Cage. The same weapon is used by the androids in What Are Little Girls Made Of? see Gary7's episode entry upthread.
