yeah, never get too disppointed about summer turnout, it's usually highly variable in ANY online contest...

Here's my 2nd one, also kinda obvious:

I would really like to submit something for this contest but I think I got it all out of my system in the Canon Violation thread in Misc.

Whatever you mentioned in that Canon Violation thread, just find a picture version and use that.

Actually, this is one of the more creative ideas we've had in awhile. For my part, I just have not had the time to come up with an idea or to create one... even with my limited skillset.

Just use Google image search.

This isn't really good enough for a contest -but you'll have to watch it anyways

It's a comment on the internet as a whole.

You all remember the blinking alien right? -was it last year? -some farmer made a low light video recording of someone looking in his daughters window at night. Supposedly it was a real life alien -the fact that it blinked was supposed to be the evidence that it wasn't a puppet... a day or two later somebody else posted a video of a puppet outside a window -a puppet that blinked

Nah, just my age showing, you see in the day before digital tv there was such a thing as a channel without signal, and that is how it looked.

Hence: The sky above the port was the colour of TV tuned to a dead channel.
