Since we've done The End, let's do The Beginning. First Frames -- or just something from the first scene -- of your favourite SF&F films (or shows, or episodes of shows). No restriction as to franchise or subject matter, usual avatar rules and restrictions apply. Good luck!

I'll start us off:

Mad Max: Fury Road

OK, I just had to do this one...

The first scene of the first aired episode of the original Star Trek ("The Man Trap"), which aired, well, about 8 months shy of 50 years ago! ;)

Spock in command, Uhura at navigation, and I believe that is the estimable Mr. Leslie at the helm. Don't get too comfortable in any of those chairs, people... ;)

Darn it. I thought of Fight Club's opening when I saw this thread and just realized it's SF&F only. Now I have a great avatar and nothing to do with it. I'll post another later.

Dagnabbit! I just made an animated one of that.

I will go with the first appearance of Indy instead.

Actually, will the standard avatar rules apply in XenTrekBBS? It's avatars are smaller and not animated.

Personally I would say contest runner discretion.
If we go by new board standards, animated shouldn't be allowed either.
I will probably keep using the old rules in any contest I run, but if anyone wants to use new board rules, that would be fine, too.

Ugly layout, smaller avatars (with borders around them), crummy designs -- by God -- XenForo has done it -- it's gotten a hold of a flux capacitor and we've gone back to 1997!
