The Dorchester Heights Monument in Dorchester, the neighborhood of Boston where I lived until I was nine. Dorchester Heights is where Washington took command of the Continental Army; he fortified the Heights, put Boston under seige and drove the Redcoats out to sea.

The Oosterschelde Storm Surge Barrier:

After the North Sea flood that struck the Netherlands in 1953, killing almost 2000 people, the Dutch government decided to implement a network of defenses against future floodings: the Deltaworks.

The works were finished in 1997, and are one of the seven wonders of the modern world as declared by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

I saw the barrier for the first time when I was nine years old, it had just recently been completed, and I still remember how much in awe I was about the sheer size of it all.

But more to the point: where did you find that great photo? do you have it any larger?

Oh, I altered a normal photo I had. We have a ton of old photos in albums, though. Here's the original.



There are other pictures from India I would have liked to use, but they weren't exactly famous recognizable landmarks.

Have no idea how to do this, but I'd recommend a picture of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, night shot especially...
