Yes, at the suggestion of the rascally Rhubarbodendron, the theme of our latest Avatar Contest shall be those proboscally endowed non-ruminant mammals of the family elephantidae; i.e. pachyderms, mammoths, and mastodons. In short: Elephants. African or Asian, living or extinct, circus or civilian. They all qualify. No fictional elephants, though. Dumbo need not apply. Sorry, kid.

Art is acceptable in the form of paintings, naturalist sketches, et cetera, as long as it is non media.

It can even be a picture of an elephant by an elephant:

Just be careful bringing them in here. Those suckers are big.

And, uh, be sure they're housebroken. Thanks. Go for it!

I'd recommend to very carefully (but quickly) withdraw first and shit later. It's more hygienic and might safe your life at the same time :p

^That's a nice shot.

If I was as close to an actual elephant looking like that, as that photo looks as if the photographer was, I would shit my pants!!!!!

Heh, nice lenses really help in this case! I have an Aunt and Uncle who are into professional wildlife photography for a living, and most often the case, they aren't all that close as the pictures would make it seem, thanks to some neat telephoto lenses. So, the likely case is that this was taken from a vehicle, keeping the photographer safe and preventing the animal from getting upset. The photographer got some great timing for a head-on shot.

I hope this is "naturalist" enough to qualify:

Oh, Dude! This one breaks my brain! I see between 4 and 8 legs when I look at it...and If i look quickly enough the legs actually make a walking movement! Aaargh! (and no, I'm not drinking right now!)

^^ I remember him. :rommie:

Now I see it, too.
